It can take years of pushing people away to realize that you’re often your own worst enemy. If your relationship to yourself is rocky, all of your external relationships will mirror that. This love meditation, done in three phases, will lead you to self-forgiveness.

The objective is to send love to as many beings as possible. We start out by visualizing the people who are easiest for you to love, like friends and family. Then we move into the people who are neutral to you, neighbors or acquaintances. All of it building up to the last step, the people who are difficult. In this practice we’ll focus on a version of you that has hurt you, and extend forgiveness.

This style of meditation has been refined for over thousands of years by Tibetan Buddhist monks. Trust the process.
